ABOUT
I was commissioned by The Planner to illustrate an article about the UK government's levelling-up agenda.
The author discusses how some communities still don't get a "fair slice of the cake", with regional disparities in the UK above those in comparable developed economies. The first illustration was chosen for publication, reflecting the inequality of investment between Northern "red wall" areas and South East Conservative-voting towns.
The second illustration was an alternative idea I came up. There was mention in the original article of the government using a magic wand to try and even up investment between the different areas of the country. I thought this lent itself well to the concept of regional disparities.
