Camberwell College of Arts was undergoing a site changing/construction between 2015-2017. The brief was to design a wayfinding system and hoarding design that represent the college and its culture. This project asks for exploring a number of ideas such as the history of the school, making reference to the activities that take place in the building, making reference to the students and staff who work in the buildings and relating the College to the communities that it works within. My group’s design decisions were dependent on what makes the university special. We picked out key aspects such as the traditional and hands-on crafts, the unity between students and teachers, the homely atmosphere and the diversity within the university. We wanted our design to be clear and coherent but also have an illustrative, playful and conceptual characteristic. As a result, our design was selected and produced as hoarding for Camberwell construction site from March 2017 - August 2017.
