Packaging design for Battered Bastards Brew a special beer brew created for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day by Tantrum Brewing Company.

Tantrum Brewing is just a stones throw from Camp Camp Toccoa, where the 101st Airborne trained during WWII. For the 75th aniversay of D-Day they created four short run beers to celebrate both the camp and what the 101st did during WWII:

Summer Spearhead - D-Day Itself
Autumn Gamble - The failed Opperation Market Garden
WInter Resistance - Battle of the Bulge
Springtime Victory - Their end of opperatioins in the ETO in May 1944

We created a design that took inspiration from both the campaign medals awarded in WWII to display each brew type in a distinct color, as well as the typography used in may pices of trench art created by soliders in foxholes during the war. A sort of diagonal etching technique used on bring backs such as shell casings and scraps of metal.
