This artwork depicts the village of Nesso, a hidden gem on Lake Como, known for its stone bridge, medieval houses, and emerald waters. The goal was to capture not just the architecture, but the atmosphere of a summer day by the lake—swimmers in the water, people strolling the bridge, and the lush greenery surrounding the scene.
I used gouache to achieve vibrant textures, layering warm tones of the buildings with the cool shades of the lake and foliage. The result is an evocative travel illustration that celebrates Italian heritage, blending observation with a touch of narrative charm.
