ABOUT

Up to 1,5 million unique users use The Dream Team football platform every year. The Sun (and Wunderman, my contract client) targeted growing the subscriber list to 3 million. Key to this is improving the user journey dramatically from 2014's offering. The aim for 2015 is to deliver content that is relevant to the user alongside gameplay to increase the time the user spends on the site. The average time a user spends on the site to register is around an hour, after which there are weekly or monthly 10 minute blasts. Delivering football content on a weekly basis is an integral way that it will be possible to increase the time the user spends on the site.

With an ambitious deadline of 1 week I designed a ‘mobile first’ solution for the client, modular site structure, social media integration, infinite scrolling and streaming in content from various channels (internal and external). Delivering content that is relevant to the user is extremely important and an easy intuitive method of filtering this content was key.

My work involved research, requirements gathering, brainstorming site structure using these requirements, creating a site map, wire framing key user journeys and creating polished visual designs including UI. Phew. All that in 1 week? Usually takes a few weeks all in but hey, what's working 50 hour weeks when you love the game?
