ABOUT
The image represents a cutaway illustration of a gas apparatus using a new filtering system that separates clean gas from dirty gas.
The gases are represented by gas molecules, red and brown for dirty gas and blue and silver for clean gas.
I received a contact from PorterWillis a technology/creative firm which specializes in a full range of services from Strategic Assessment, User Experience to Graphic Design and Prototyping.
He wanted me to help them with a particular client who needed a difficult and technically-driven creative design to show off a new type of gas filter that removes and separates dirty gas from clean gas. They had already tried one artist who didn’t quite get what the client was looking for.
After a brief conversation, a few photos and a bit of research I came up with a cutaway idea to show the filter working and separating the gasses in a particular apparatus that the end client uses.
This was a bit out of my knowledge base to begin with so the challenge was to tell a complete story of what this gas filter does with just one image.
I think the things I enjoyed the most was the client's reaction to my work all the way through the process, and the fact that I learned something new from doing the research on the product.
Not sure there will be any "results" I will actually know about other than it may be used as a cover for scientific trade magazine.
