ABOUT
This is the concept of stepping into a surreal painting – a vast, checkerboard landscape that seems to stretch to infinity. I wanted to create a scene that feels like you're entering another world, where the boundaries of reality are a bit blurred. The series was shot in studio using a Gybow light rig, an incredible piece of tech that creates a 360-degree light hemisphere. The rig uses computer generated HDRI environments to paint reflections and light onto the car. This helps it blend seamlessly into the surreal backgrounds created in CGI. To get the correct ground reflection, we projected a checkerboard pattern onto the floor enhancing the car's integration into the setting.
