ABOUT

Background
Valmont is a global infrastructure manufacturer whose work powers cities, connects communities and supports food systems around the world. But much of that impact was invisible to prospective talent. The business had a visibility problem that was masking a stronger value story. Recruitment was difficult in frontline manufacturing roles, while the meaning and pride behind the work were getting lost in functional, product-led language.

Strategy
We shifted the story from jobs to legacy. The strategic platform, We Build What Matters, reframed manufacturing as meaningful work with lasting impact. Employees were not simply making infrastructure. They were building careers, futures and the systems people rely on every day. The opportunity was to connect what people do with why it matters.

Solution
Calling All Heroes put Valmont employees at the centre of the outcomes their work makes possible. Rather than showing products in isolation, the campaign placed everyday workers in extraordinary contexts, from floodlit stadiums to energy networks and food production.
Simple lines such as “They can’t take the field without you” connected individual roles directly to their wider impact, while bold, cinematic imagery brought scale, grit and pride to the work.

Results
The campaign reframed functional manufacturing roles as essential contributions, giving greater visibility to the people behind Valmont’s infrastructure. It helped connect employees with the tangible impact of their work, strengthened internal pride and moved the employer story away from corporate product language towards something more human. The result is a platform that makes Valmont’s value easier to see, both for the people already there and the people it wants to attract.
