Independent writer, strategist, advertising copywriter and writing coach.

Experience: Over three decades in advertising, a five-year stint in entrepreneurial design and marketing consultancy inventing, refreshing and taking to market food and drink companies, a segue into place branding and some long form, commissioned book writing.

Still loves hard work.

A million years ago, Will started as an account man. After a couple of years, he switched to copywriting at Bartle Bogle Hegarty. In two, long stints, he learned from brilliant people and produced lots of work over 15 years.

Along the way, he has also worked as head of copy at Leagas Delaney, ECD at Partners BDDH, a Creative Director at DDB London and, for eight years, as creative director and acting MD of Ogilvy and Mather, London. This was followed by a brief stint engaged on counter terrorist communication, and then five years at Big Fish, a design and branding consultancy. He also spent nearly a year putting ideas into the heads of large scale property owners and investors at Sutton Young, a placemaking design business.

Along the way, he has created extraordinary value for brands both great (Unilever's Dove and Knorr brands) and small (a selection of new names in UK grocery retail, now busy hoovering up shoppers' attention digitally and in-store). Has worked with over 100 different clients and won more pitches than he's lost.
