THE CHALLENGE
Banam is Europe’s first banana water, made from 100% bananas and nothing else. But launching a completely new product into an already crowded functional drinks category meant having a great product wasn’t enough. It needed a brand that could stand out, feel different and give people a reason to pick it up.

The challenge was to build a distinctive brand around the simplicity of the product, while bringing to life the Thai roots and spirit behind it.

THE SOLUTION
We started with the simplest truth: 100% bananas. It became the big idea behind the brand and gave us permission to go a little bananas with everything else.

We named the brand Banam, combining the ‘ba’ from banana with ‘naam’, the Thai word for water. From there, we created a vibrant identity inspired by the colour, energy and spirit of Thailand.

Bold typography, expressive illustration and a bright colour palette bring the brand to life, while our monkey mascot adds a playful signature. Look closely and you’ll spot that its smile is made from bananas.

On pack, Banana Water is front and centre, making the product easy to understand at a glance. Distinctive colourways help shoppers navigate the flavours, while the cartons bring the same playful world to life across the wider range.

THE RESULT
The result is a distinctive brand and packaging system that gives Banam a clear point of difference in the functional drinks category.

It’s a brand with personality, rooted in where the product comes from, but with the ambition and flexibility to grow well beyond its first launch.
