ABOUT

Concept
Our client aimed to secure a multi-million-pound contract for a state-of-the-art airport terminal in the Middle East. To differentiate their bid from competitors, they needed a visually compelling and well-structured submission. Recognising the importance of presentation, clarity, and engagement in high-stakes bidding, they enlisted Wedidit Creative to oversee the conceptual design, layout, and print production process.

The new airport terminal symbolises Kuwait’s emergence as a major commercial hub. With 70% of the population being non-Kuwaiti, the country is evolving into a powerhouse for international trade. During the discovery phase, it became evident that the terminal would serve as a gateway to this economic growth, inspiring the headline title: "Portal to the Future."

Balancing practicality with visual impact, the presentation design reflected an aviation theme. The objective was to create an immersive experience while adhering to strict submission requirements.

Execution
Working closely with the client, the Wedidit team adopted a strategic and collaborative approach to ensure the bid met all requirements and exceeded expectations. The submission needed to be delivered in both electronic format and hard-copy versions, all fitting inside specific, authorised, sealed envelopes. These strict parameters posed both creative and logistical challenges.

Wedidit undertook extensive research and development to maintain a slim format. Since the size of the bid documents was uncertain, the team devised an inventive approach for the electronic document wallets, which contained specifically requested CDs and master USBs. Spine widths were carefully controlled to ensure the wallets fit within the submission envelope, despite unknown final dimensions of the hard-copy documents.

Given tight timescales, meticulous planning was essential. Some print production processes required early initiation, leaving no margin for error in later stages. Every decision was executed with precision to ensure timely delivery to the Middle East.

To capture the aviation theme, Wedidit developed a pulley system with sliding panels, creating a sense of motion that mimicked an aircraft’s arrival. The cover featured a commercial airplane, while the pull-out panels depicted Kuwait International Airport’s runway and new terminal, reinforcing the idea of entering a new era.

The color palette was inspired by Kuwait’s national flag, with green as the dominant hue, symbolising paradise, purity, and prosperity—key values in Islamic culture. Respect for local customs was central to the design approach.

Due to uncertainty around document specifications and cost considerations, the bid documents’ covers featured a simplified version of the electronic wallet’s pulley system. Instead, bespoke artwork integrated the aircraft, terminal building, and bid document identifiers (A, B, and C) into a cohesive design.

Results
The final submission was a resounding success. Both the client and the receiving party praised the creativity, quality, and attention to detail, making the bid highly engaging and impactful. The submission effectively showcased the client's vision and professionalism, setting them apart in a competitive bidding process.

While the selection process remains confidential, the project strengthened Wedidit Creative’s relationship with their client, earning trust and repeat business. The innovative approach and meticulous execution demonstrated Wedidit Creative’s ability to deliver outstanding results under complex and high-pressure conditions.
