ABOUT
Brief:
The brief behind this project was to create a guerilla marketing campaign, something tangible and interactive that portrayed the message '#LoveWhatYouDo' for a Newcastle based digital brand agency, Precept. Being an open ended brief, there were no real restrictions on the team, we just needed to produce something tactile.
Development:
We created the idea that 'love' was part of us and formed part of our DNA. In order to develop this concept we began experimenting using cocktail sticks and jelly tots to represent DNA shapes and strands. This led us to considering what else could be created using this format. Returning to the message of '#LoveWhatYouDo', we decided to use the technique to create a heart-shaped structure. The final result could have been drawn, digitised or illustrated. However as the client wanted something tangible to represent the brand, the right answer for this project was to build it.
Solution:
To create the final piece we collaborated with Raskl, a design studio and workshop which specialises in bespoke furniture design. Together we developed a three layered hinge system which could operate in 360 degrees enabling the heart to be built as a three dimensional sculpture.
