ABOUT

As an extension of the INK Plain Bodies series, we present our latest collection of crafted CGI stills of the ‘Mezger 16’, the sixteen-cylinder engine of the 1970 Porsche 917 PA Spyder Prototype, engineered by the late Hans Mezger. These images present this engineering marvel in its purest form, elevating the mechanical details and complexity, finding beauty in its functional design and raw power.

The 917 Prototype engine, a 6.5 litre, 755hp flat-sixteen, was developed to increase the power of Porsche’s racing cars and their presence on the tracks to match the power of the competition in the Can-Am championship. Coming in at a hefty 80kg heavier than the existing 917 12-cylinder engine, along with a longer wheelbase, the engine never made it to the track.

This collection of fully CGI stills celebrate this 16-cylinder marvel, having been intricately modelled in 3D by our team from scratch. Shown aloft, in painstaking detail, we capture a new and unseen level of detail in this enginee
