Roles: Gautam Narang (Project manager & creative director), Adom Woods (Animator), Sarah (Assistant Editor)What we did for Baby Ape:We created a full explainer video that included an animated version of their Baby Ape mascot. The first step was re-creating the logo from scratch so that it could be animated in the video. Our illustrator built each layer of the mascot in procreate and then exported a PNG file that was brought into After Effects for animation.
Our Thought Process:Before we started the project, we did a mind map, which can be found here. We took inspiration from the original website. We incorporated the black and yellow background theme with spinning bananas as accents. The blue of the ape coin became the prominent third color and we accented the video with jungle themed assets to pull it all together. Our custom illustrators were a simple line style so they didn’t draw too much attention from Baby Ape.
