ABOUT

One of the bigger challenges facing every up-and-coming agency is how to build relationships with potential advocates at the bigger brands.

We hit upon a novel way to both introduce ourselves and demonstrate the quality of our work, sending out luxurious Parisian style macarons and in doing so confirming how powerful social media can be when engaging with potential clients.

Every fortnight over the space of 10 weeks, we targeted potential clients with personalised direct marketing. Instead of bombarding targets with generic calls and emails, the aim was to speak to what really mattered to the person in question. This meant spending time on social networks, researching exactly what that individual found important. For one it was running, for another reading.

Once we had established their key messaging, we went to town creating a personalised box filled with seven bespoke Macarons. Filled with white chocolate ganache and dark chocolate lime ganache and coloured to reflect our brands identity, these were then carefully packaged together with a personalised card which had been duplex printed with two GF Smith stocks and included a clear foil monogram to one side. To close, they were wrapped with ribbon and stamped with the Virtu monogram seal and black sealing wax.

The campaign was an immediate success and we saw a 300% increase in engagement on social media from truly touched recipients sharing their bespoke gift, using the hashtag #Virtusweettalk.
