I was asked to create an illustration that would be used as a wedding gift. The brief was to include the married couple's initials and the date of their wedding. I incorporated aspects of their wedding day using small illustrations. This included the church they married in, a fox and a pheasant (the name of the reception venue) and afternoon tea and Pimms (the food and drink that was served at the wedding). I took the shade of blue from the theme of the wedding/colour of the bridesmaid dresses and included the print from the bridesmaid dresses subtly in the background. The couple were also fond of the classic Penguin Publishing style of book design, so my client asked me to include this idea as it was something used in their wedding invite design. I added blocks of blue in the background to reflect this.
