Concept
This ongoing body of work explores my fascination with animals and wildlife through traditional painting and drawing. Created over several years, the collection reflects my interest in capturing not only anatomy and detail, but also the individual character, expression and presence of each animal.

Execution
Working primarily in acrylics, alongside oil pastels and other traditional media, I build each portrait through observation, layered colour, texture and expressive mark-making. Subjects range from big cats and wildlife to horses and farm animals, allowing me to explore different forms, fur, markings, expressions and personalities.

Results
An evolving collection of original animal and wildlife portraits demonstrating traditional painting, observational drawing and animal characterisation across a range of species and media. The work also shows the development of my technique over time and my continuing focus on expressive, character-led animal art.
