ABOUT
Concept
Where Water Moves is a series of original acrylic paintings exploring the changing character of water — from the quiet rhythm of a secluded shoreline to the energy of a breaking wave. The works focus on atmosphere, movement, reflected colour and the contrast between water and the surrounding landscape.
Execution
Painted traditionally in acrylic, I built the scenes through layered colour, expressive brushwork and small textural details. In the coastal landscape, I focused on depth, light and the transition between land and sea. In the wave study, stronger contrasts and layered marks were used to capture the movement of foam, translucent water and the force of the breaking wave.
Result
The finished paintings explore different moods of the sea: calm and immersive, energetic and dramatic reflecting my developing approach to landscape painting and my interest in capturing nature through colour, texture and atmosphere.
