ABOUT

The Simulation & Skills Training Team at St George's Healthcare NHS Trust (GAPS); approached me asking for a logo. The challenging part was that they wanted it to also work as an infographic for their initiative called; Scenario thinking, Observation, Feedback and Tools (SOFT).

The first meeting we talked through the brief, and they approved a rough sketch I made during the discussion.

Then it was a question of turning the rough sketch into a black and white logo; I refrained from add in colour to keep my focus on the concept.

GAPS didn't have brand guidelines, so the starting point for the colours was the raspberry colour of their scrubs. While testing with the raspberry colour, it became clear to me that it was not going to give the impression GAPS wanted.

The next approach was sand-like colours and to remove the hard lines between sections. Which worked, suited the team's values and the logo's design. In the next meeting, the logo got the thumbs up.
