ABOUT

The drawn from the Archives exhibition is a travelling exhibition which showcases materials kept in the Historic Environment Scotland's archives that are not on display to the public. Each category within the exhibition is accompanied by a work by a contemporary artist. My work was commissioned to accompany an exhibition board on Archaeological Illustration.
I decided to create a collage of archaeological illustration types eminating from the drawing board of an Archaeological Illustrator (myself). I created it in digital pen and ink, using styles and coventions often used in Archaeologcal Illustration and reflecting the types of illustration in the archive collection. The finished display piece was printed at 2m x2m square.
