About me
Over the past 20+ years or so, I've worked across a wide spectrum of genres and styles,
embracing variety as a driving force in my career. Every project offers a new opportunity
to explore and evolve—whether it's a high-gloss commercial or a nuanced, long-form
narrative.
I've been fortunate to collaborate with some of the world's most iconic brands, including
Alexander McQueen, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Miu Miu, YSL, Schiaparelli,
Apple, BMW, Bentley, Porsche, Nike, Glenlivet, Sky, Patek Philippe, Sony and
Waitrose. These experiences have deepened my understanding of visual storytelling and
brand identity.
My formative years were spent at VTR, where I had the privilege of grading 35mm film on
the legendary Pogle Pandora systems. I cut my teeth on late-night promos and short films
shot on Super 16mm, learning invaluable lessons from pioneering colourists like, Seamus
O'Kane, and Tareq Kubaisi. Time also spent at Glassworks & Prime Focus, including a
rewarding time spent in Mumbai.
I've been lucky enough to work with celebrated DOP's such as Darius Khondji, John
Mathieson, and directors such as Danny Boyle, Kristian Levring, Sam Mendes, Garth
Jennings and - most extensively with legendary commercials director Stuart Douglas,
whose craft and experimental spirit in film has been a constant source of inspiration.
For the last decade, I've been part of a small, agile team at Raised by Wolves, working
alongside renowned Flame artist Jon Hollis. Together, we've continued our collaborations
with trusted commercial clients while expanding into more artistic, diverse, and long-form
projects—including the occasional creatively indulgent music video.
My approach to colour is deeply rooted in the visual language of fine art. Influences like
Caravaggio, Rubens, Rothko, Mabelthorpe, Callum Innes, Rachel Whiteread, Don
McCullin, and Bruce Davidson all inform the texture, light, and emotion I aim to bring to
every frame.
