I was invited by the Municipality of Lisbon to exhibit at Lugar da Cultura - Livraria Barata’s art gallery.

Inspired by calligraphy, markings and wherever our hand takes us.
Herein lies proof that the world of monochromatic art is anything but monotonous.
The artist explores her thoughts on the creative process, the duality between black and white, light and shadow. This exploration lives and breathes harmoniously with its surroundings and the general mood of the gallery within which it is housed, complementing the words and books that co-exist with it in the upstairs bookshop.
Relevant thoughts and patterns mirror a busy mind and it becomes apparent through this body of work that the act of creating is the perfect meditation.
Lead by her steady hands Vanessa Teodoro shows us the process through which she makes sense of these restless thoughts. Something that many of us today can comprehend, especially in the chaotic times within which we all live.
