ABOUT

The Iwatch design was based on a project from when I was at university and urban design. Given that apple are one of the worlds leading inspirational and influential companies for both usability and functionality the Iwatch fulfills this brief as the it combines both clean sharp forms with up to-date technology. Allowing the Iwatch to be an artists impression of what digital smart watches may be like in the near future. The design is based on a sphere that gives the watch its curved shape and fluidity, this with the flawless finish allows the design to accommodate a large OLED touch screen. The Iwatch was designed to be used as a personal media device as well as a fully functioning watch, with a plastic or metal strap according to the users preference.

The Iwatch was originally designed in 2D and a 1/1 model replica was made. Since finishing university I've redesigned the Iwatch project working from my original basic sketches. My keen interest in 3D designing enabled me to create the Iwatch over a period of 12 hours using rhino 3D CAD software. This was then rendered with KeyShot and Adobe Photoshop. The final result has given me inspiration for further projects and the hope that smart watches may one day be stylish and work around the user instead of being constrained by technology.
