I chose ‘animal rights’ to be core subject for my final major project, as it it one
of my big passions. I decided to focus more specifically on ‘pet rights’. Most
people own or are at least familiar with pets. however are unaware of the
rights attached to them. Initially I made postcards and tote bags to raise publlic
awareness, yet this didn’t seem to cover the severity of the topic. I shifted my
goal to criticize this issue in a visual way. I designed a fake website which mocks
the idea that people treat animals a disposable commdity and not as a living
being. Supporting this idea, I made three posters dealing with the breach of
pet rights, i.e.; inbreeding, treating pet as toy(commodity), abandoned pets.
The final goal of this project is to raise awareness about pet rights and related
issues and educate current or future pet owners.
