ABOUT
Context
The Optimist was conceived as a premium lifestyle magazine within the optical and eyewear segment, aiming to create a distinctive, design-led media brand in a niche yet highly competitive market. The challenge was to build a new publication from the ground up and establish immediate market relevance and commercial viability.
Approach
I developed the full brand concept, positioning and go-to-market strategy, defining a clear editorial and visual identity that combined lifestyle storytelling, design and premium brand partnerships. The goal was to create not only a publication, but a cohesive media product with strong cultural and commercial positioning.
Execution
I founded and led the magazine, building and managing a multidisciplinary team across editorial, creative and sales functions. I developed the content concept, brand identity and product structure, while overseeing production, distribution and advertising strategy. The launch was supported by a tightly integrated communication and partnership approach to ensure strong market entry and visibility.
Results
The magazine achieved rapid market success, reaching a 50% market share within its segment in the first nine months. The inaugural issue sold out all advertising space, validating both the concept and commercial positioning. The publication established itself as a leading premium media brand with strong industry recognition and sustained revenue growth.
