Marc Beaubatie, Monpazier’s “horologer”, talks through the repairs he was making to a beautiful French 19 century clock. The Clock is a clock making showpiece, build to expose its simple mechanics as a piece of clock making architecture art. As Marc says, “a beautiful piece of clock making”.
The video was film ad-hoc in my last visit to his workshop in the stunning bastide of Monpazier in the French Dordogne.
I’m working on a short documentary about Marc, his art and his captivating workshop. It will be uploaded here soon. I’m also working on another short video where Marc show us a precious “chronometer marine”, a high precision mechanical clock, an invaluable tool allowing mariners to calculate their position before the existence of GPS.
