Brief

Southwark Stars FC is a disability football team based in Elephant & Castle that offers adults a space where they can enjoy physical activity, have fun and socialise. Following a newly received sponsorship for a new kit, we where tapped to help them out set a campaign to celebrate the launch.

Concept

Done round one of the team's aim of fighting the stigma around people with LD and offering players a great footballing experience we decided to put together a Kit Launch campaign worthy of a professional club. Seeing how global trends where shifting towards mixing fashion and sport (in particular football) more and more at that time, we chose to include the lifestyle element to shoot.

‘A New Chapter ' campaign for Southwark Stars Disability FC, a celebration of the team’s new kit design and their constant dedication towards giving people with learning disabilities a space where they can practice sport, connect with others, gain confidence and get more out of life.

For the launch we have collaborated with a set of recognisable names within football and sporting publishing, having articles featured on both digital and print, as well as being present on their social media channels.

Result

For the launch we have collaborated with a set of recognisable names within football and sporting publishing, having articles featured on both digital and print, as well as being present on their social media channels. The coverage resulted into a larger awareness within the industry around the team and their cause, and left more room for collaborations for sponsorhip enquiries.
