Wellburn Care Homes approached us to create a powerful, emotive campaign to raise awareness of young onset dementia and highlight the tailored support they offer to individuals and families navigating this life-changing diagnosis. The client wanted a film that felt authentic, empathetic and informative - something that would resonate with both potential residents and healthcare professionals.

Crucially, the video needed to strike the right balance: it had to reflect the emotional weight of the subject matter while also conveying a sense of hope, support and the compassionate care Wellburn is known for.

We worked closely with the team to develop a narrative-driven campaign film, using professional actors to portray realistic family scenarios. This approach allowed us to explore the emotional impact of young onset dementia on individuals, partners, friends, and carers all within a sensitive and respectful framework.

Filming took place on location in one of Wellburn's Care homes, with additional scenes staged to reflect the daily experiences of people living with dementia. We used a warm, natural colour palette and soft, cinematic lighting to create a sense of familiarity and intimacy, helping the viewer connect with the characters and their journey.

Post-production was carefully paced to reflect the evolving emotions in the story. We combined observational footage with scripted scenes, layered with a bespoke voiceover and a subtle score to underline the emotional arc.

The final film is a moving and visually rich portrayal of young onset dementia that has been widely praised for its authenticity and emotional depth. It has been used across Wellburn’s marketing channels including social media and their website to showcase their expertise in dementia care and their commitment to supporting families with compassion and dignity.

By humanising the condition and focusing on connection and care, the campaign has helped Wellburn reinforce their position as a trusted leader in dementia care in the North of England.
