At INDS I worked on the project Inclusive School Desk for Brazilian Government, where I lead the INDS “in house” design team during development and fabrication stages. Other projects I worked there were the Ciranda Seat and Oficina da Ciranda. The first is an awarded commercial product and the second a multi-awarded social enterprise. Ciranda Seat is a foor seat designed for disabled children who cannot sit by themselves. Ciranda Seat is the commercial version that raises funds for the Oficina da Ciranda event, where INDS staff teaches families in a vulnerable socio-economical situation to build their own Ciranda Seat. I was involved in all stages
of these projects, from research to manufacturing, raising funding and establishing the Oficina da Ciranda as a successful social enterprise, a project that already helped to include hundreds of disabled children in Brazilian society. These experiences made me practice the process of managing innovation by close. As research plays a big part at INDS I was able to apply and deepen my research skills during the projects and present the results at international conferences, such as Include 09 and Include 11 in London.
