ABOUT
Spring/Summer 2019
This spring, we took on the joy, warmth, and liveliness of the nation of Cuba through their essence of music and dances, which is an innate passion for Cubans.
The music of Cuba, including the instruments and the dances, is mostly influenced by European and African origin. Most forms of present-day music are creolized fusions and mixtures of these two great sources. Each of our pieces from the collection is inspired by some of the island’s most popular genres.
One of the highlights is “The Mazurka” inspired by Northern Europe forms, similar to Gavotte, but this originates from Poland and it’s widespread in many ballrooms in the 19th Century. Back then, one of the composers in Cuba named Ernesto Lecuona made a compilation of “Mazurkas” music with an indigenous violin instrument. With high-shine beads and dazzling crystals, you will feel the exotic sounds of Mazurka.
From Mambo to Mazurkas, we translated to pops of colors, beadings, and rhinestones that blossom against the clean palette, also lifting the dynamic ballad of Bolero while you watch the sun go up.
With dazzling pearl necklaces and a set of demure crystals earrings, get ready to Cha-Cha-Cha in Aidan and Ice’s eternal summer in Cuba
