Totom Construction High Wycombe

ABOUT

For Mutiny, the action thriller starring Jason Statham and directed by Jean-François Richet, Totom worked with Production Designer Russell De Rozario and Art Director Oskar De Rozario to construct a series of sets at Pinewood Studios.

The build centred on the cargo ship’s hold, where the layout needed to support complex fight and chase sequences. Our team constructed approximately 20 scenery containers using timber frames and corrugated panels, positioned alongside three real shipping containers. Some were mounted on wheels, allowing the configuration to change between scenes while providing access for cameras and performers.

Beyond the hold, we built interconnected crew corridors, cabins and a stairwell, alongside a chain locker below the stage floor. Each space extended the ship’s interior and gave the action room to move.

The project also took us beyond the ship. A hotel interior, Bangkok street and Thai cemetery were created across Pinewood’s stages, lot and gardens, with CNC-cut lettering adding detail to the cemetery’s constructed gravestones.

Together, these builds translated the production design into practical filming environments, combining the scale of a cargo ship with confined interiors and distinctive exterior locations.
