Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the junior trend forecasting assistant position. I hold a first class BA in Management Studies degree from the University of Nottingham. My ambition now is to achieve a marketing role within the fashion industry. Marketing appeals so strongly to me because I am fascinated by strong brands and their ability to reach such a broad range of consumers. Furthermore, in life I enjoy change and thrive on fresh ideas and new experiences. I am passionate about fashion; it is a ubiquitous aspect of my lifestyle and a part of my identity. I pride myself on my knowledge of what is current and my ability to anticipate trends. I am believe that this enthusiasm, coupled with my analytical mind provide me with the essential capabilities required for this role.

My degree has equipped me with various skills in business and organisational relations, as well as a highly developed commercial awareness. Marketing communications was a recurrent area of focus within my studies and one which I excelled at and interested me greatly for its diversity of tasks. My studies have required a focused understanding of various business principles, including strategic planning and operations management. I believe my retail marketing internship and work in both visual and head office merchandising have given me an excellent basis of understanding for this role.

My academic record shows that I have been a consistent high achiever; this is testament to my conscientious nature and ability to self manage and prioritise my work. I am an ambitious and articulate individual with a strong enthusiasm for the fashion and creative industries. I possess a well developed artistic eye and the ability to adapt to the dynamic conditions of the fashion retail world.
