Tomasz Kaluba Owner, Designer

ABOUT

The building was erected some ten years ago, just before the economic slowdown, and for more than a decade waited for better times. Due to budget constraints, the entrance hall was practically not finished, painted in magnolia colour and remained so for many years until now. The owner of the place decided that the time had come, it was time for a significant change which he considered indispensable from his business point of view. He approachedĀ Kaluba Design Studio, to discuss the matter. After some consideration Tomasz prepared initial design concept, that got approval, and then subsequently produced full documentation focusing on every aspect of the interior transformation. His main objectives, behind his concept, were: 1. to separate different spaces within a long lobby using colours and materials, 2. to make the entire room optically wider using reflective lacobel glass on the walls, 3. to separate a storage room under the stairs, 4. to revamp the existing balustrade (the client opted not to replace it with a new one), 5. to design a clear and convincing new visual communication system within a building. You may see the proposed changes on the visualisations attached. The fit-out works have been scheduled for early March, so finger crossed for success!
