Fear of the Deep Series 2 is the new collection of figures by artist and sculptor Tom Rush aka Creaturehut. Tom digitally sculpted each figure, then created a mould and cast each set out in bright neon colours. The figures have been created in a similar vein to the classic Monsters in my pocket series from both mine and Tom's childhoods. With the shoot we both wanted to create something that had a similar look and feel to the toy adverts that you would see in comics and the Argos catalogue circa 1985.

For the shoot Tom created a custom backdrop with moveable pieces, allowing us to recompose for the individual close up shots. All images were shot on a 50 megapixel Phase One medium format camera.
