About me
Whilst working at the Victorian and Albert Museum on a four-month internship with their commercial picture library, it was quickly recognised that it was well within my ability to take on major projects for publishers. Working unaided I undertook picture research for four books each requiring six hundred images with fully recorded documentation. Through my steadfast involvement and ability to comprehend the clients needs I contributed to the publisher agreeing to two more future publications.
Subsequently, since joining the team sales figures have seen a rapid growth far beyond that of the monthly target with repeat business also above average. One of my main achievements was my role in updating the mailing list in tailoring its exposure to more relevant businesses.
With both long and short term projects whether that may be a newspaper with only days until going to print or a coffee table book with a timescale of months, I have honed my ability to be able to work under strict deadlines. My daily routine requires me to make informed decisions with the clients interest in mind, with my training I have to assure them that the image or images they request will reach their maximum dissemination or to make that one single resonating statement.
Through my daily routine of looking at an average of 15,000 to 20,000 images a day I have developed an even stronger eye for detail. In addition I have built a good understanding of administrative techniques, an in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and Photoshop. As well as helping to create marketing material for the client base, while making sure that the entire clients needs are catered for. Noted for my eye for detail, I was allocated a supplementary role in retouching images ready for web distribution and commercial purposes.
In working for the museum I have exploited the access it has provided me to be able to keep well informed on contemporary culture by attending exhibitions and events in my free time. While also utilizing its links with other archives and picture libraries.
I am willing to share their informed opinions. I am self-directed and I can offer you the same independence of mind, sense of purpose and commitment to succeed. I am proactive, keen, a quick learner, a good team worker, confident and enquiring.
