About me

I am a dedicated and driven professional with great enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. My experience as a sub-editor over the past three years has built vastly upon the skills I learnt as a production editor in my previous job, as well as on the theory I learned during my publishing degree.

My knowledge of the publishing process is now well-rounded and I feel confident working in all aspects of publishing, be it editorial or production. My work in both book production and magazine/journal production has given me first-hand experience working on publications with both short deadlines and longer, rolling deadlines.

I have extensive experience with the following computer programs in both PC and Macintosh formats: Microsoft Office XP Package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Distiller, Pitstop and QuarkXPress. I also have some experience with website HTML coding.

I am reliable, enthusiastic and dedicated, and am able to work to tight deadlines. I work well individually or as part of a team and have great interpersonal skills. Proofreading has been a key part of my job for the last eight years and I have built up a keen eye for detail.
