I was contracted to design and animate two videos to be projected in permanent exhibitions at the National Army Museum. The first was to compliment a room dedicated to the Battle of Waterloo, which also featured an ancient model of the battle from the mid-1800's and the second was an explainer to describe the use of the British army's parading.

For Waterloo, the client wanted a modern cinematic trailer to build drama and translate the epic nature of this hugely significant battle in history. As the battle was in 1815, long before even the earliest photographs, the only assets available were stunning oil and watercolour paintings. I cut out elements of the paintings and positioned them in 3D space, allowing me to move the camera around the scene to achieve the 2.5D effect.

To add an extra eye catching detail to the "Ceremonies and Parades" video, the CD at Squint wanted to utilise the brick surface that it was being projected on to. Onsite, while the museum was still under construction, I mapped the brickwork and created an intro and outro that gave the impression that the wall was breaking open and closing, much to the delight of the team that commissioned it and the museum director.

As the projection mapping had gone so well for "Ceremonies", I was subsequently commissioned to map and refine two other projected exhibits in the museum.
