The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), launched in 2022, seeks to build a robust semiconductor ecosystem in the country, which is crucial for all electronic devices—a need underscored by recent global supply chain disruptions. ISM is a specialized and independent business division within the Digital India Corporation, focused on creating a dynamic semiconductor and display ecosystem to position India as a global leader in electronics manufacturing and design.
In 2021, ISM organized a logo competition, and I was fortunate to participate. Out of nearly 35,000 entries, my submission made it to the final 50. Today, I’m sharing the logo I designed for the competition.

I created three variations of the logo: a wordmark, a combination mark, and a brandmark.

Technical Details:
The logo was designed using three colors—green, white, and black—in a 5" x 5" layout.

Logo Description:
The logo is intended to position India as a key player in the global semiconductor manufacturing sector. It symbolizes the country’s goal to develop a vibrant semiconductor and display ecosystem, supporting India’s rise as an international electronics manufacturing and design hub.
The central square signifies India’s potential to become a major center for semiconductor manufacturing, reflecting the government’s serious commitment to this mission. The digital-style text "ISM" at the center represents India’s capabilities in digital platform transformation. The green color highlights India’s commitment to sustainability during this mission, aligning with the country’s pledge to reduce its GDP’s emissions intensity by 45% by 2030 from the 2005 levels. The integrated circuit (IC) channel icons within the central square represent India's resources, talent, and technology to ensure the mission’s global success. The squares emanating from the IC board symbolize India’s growth, both nationally and internationally, as it becomes a global hub for semiconductor services."
