ABOUT

The Brief: To produce a brand film for the Bank that celebrates the Diwali festivities while staying true to the brand's tagline of Together We Progress. This film also needs to resonate with and touch the hearts of Diwali celebrants and Malaysians at large as the nation is still plagued by the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath.

The Strategy: Much like all of the festive brand films that we have been doing for RHB, this film was told around a real Malaysian's real story of progress. For this particular spot, the underlying theme was about change and reinvention, and finding the courage to pivot. It was especially relevant because millions around the world had lost their livelihoods, optimism and hope to the pandemic. And with Diwali being the Festival of Light, it was incredibly apt for us to share with the world Vikey's story of triumphing darkness with the light of courage.

The Result: Close to 14 million views on YouTube and Facebook, over 30,000 engagements and close to 2,000 shares. This spot was also featured by Business Insider India as one of the best Diwali commercials of the year (as chosen by their panel of experts), and it was the only spot in the list that was produced outside of India. It was also listed by Campaign Asia as one of APAC's best campaigns of the year.
