About me

I'm a very experienced and versatile English freelance writer and photographer permanently resident in Helsinki, Finland. I've written for dozens of magazines, paper and books about everything to do with Finland, from travel, food and sport to sustainable development issues, culture and arts. I'm also an award-winning travel photographer (TPOTY; British Guild of Travel Writers Photographer of the Year 2012, 2015; AA Travel Photographer of the Year 'Famous Places' winner etc). Beyond the Finland and the Nordic and Baltic regions, my speciality is India. I have extensive archives of travel photos, including from Finland and different parts of and events in India.
