Tim's work
About Tim
As Deputy Editor of Cine Outsider.com I'm always researching and writing content as well as managing videos and images on the website. I'm now looking to widen my experience and knowledge in this area by working with a team.
Continually looking to broaden our readership, when I joined the site, it was my idea to film videos of me interviewing talent, as a lot of the grassroots sites don't have accompanying video content with their reviews. I'm currently negotiating a deal to host festival circuit films without distribution deals exclusively through our website. This not only fits with our remit of championing artists outside the mainstream and will bring a whole new audience to our page.
This past September, I created and took charge of the Facebook account (*) for the first annual pop up gig "Brixton Come Together", just two and a half weeks prior to the event. Handling everything from ticket enquiries to video uploads of our "Artist of the day" (showcasing each and band in the line-up), I also designed the festival logo (in the profile pic) and ensured brand consistency by making it part of our t-shirt design, which we sold at the event.
I understand that social media amounts to much more than simply amassing followers. It's also about inviting your network to collaborate on projects, creating and promoting together.
Understanding your objectives is key. In terms of tracking audience response to digital content, there's an innumerable amount of analytics to measure. Once you know what you're aiming for, you can measure it. It's a waste of time and money measuring EVERYTHING.
Working for various literary agencies I have excellent attention to detail and reading a large volume of manuscripts, strong decision making and influencing skills. My work both as an interviewer and a special needs teacher required excellent interpersonal, communication skills. Writing press releases for PR companies and reviews for the site, I have excellent writing skills and a grasp of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
My experience in digital content my be limited, but my ideas big, my enthusiasm boundless. It was a friend in event planning and PR who passed this on, thinking I'd be ideally suited and I think she may be on to something. The essential skills are covered though I'm not 100% certain on what you mean by "employment agenda" in this context. While I'm not familiar with using CMS, I see this isn't listed as essential and was hoping it might be offered as part of the coaching.
I'm able to travel wherever, though a large part of the appeal of this position is working mostly from home, as I have cerebral palsy (a walking disability).
I am eligible for a guaranteed interview under the two ticks scheme.
This sounds like exactly the kind of challenge I'm looking for and I really believe I can bring the key ingredients of innovation and inspiration to the role.
Very much looking forward to hearing from you,
Best,
Tim
