Independent music company The state51 Conspiracy came up with the idea of the 51 Editions series as a way to get hand-made, high quality, super limited edition records into the hands of collectors and music fans in a sustainable and innovative way. It also had to work around supply issues at pressing plants caused by Covid-19 and Brexit. Each title was made in runs of 51, with the final one in each run coming in a specially designed box. All of the packaging was designed and made in the state51 atelier by skilled artisans, and the records were cut on a lathe, engraved and hand finished. Each piece is entirely unique.
