The project looked into noise pollution and its negative impacts on mental and physical health. I focused on taking back control of an environments sound, adapting a space to create a less noisy and healthier environment. The diffuser is made out mesoporous silica infused silicone rubber for high sound absorption qualities. Combined with a pyramidical diffusion pattern, it is designed to work in unison with the material to optimise noise reduction. The modular design means it can be displayed and used effectively in many different orientations, allowing for reduction of unwanted noise levels in a diverse range of environments.
