ABOUT

There was a requirement for waste water to be processed instead of being fed into the settling ponds, creating a lengthy a costly process of cleaning them out. The system takes the fines from the adjacent sand plant, thickens it using a 10 meter thickener and then the solids are separated through a decanter centrifuge. the result is a handle-able material that can be dumped at another location on site.

I played a key role in creating the initial layout for customer approval, then followed the project through to structural analysis, detail design, installation and commissioning in which I also played a key role at each stage. Was the first project of its kind that I had worked on and was a steep learning curve, but overall was a very enjoyable process.
