ABOUT

Affordable housing finance in India sits at a difficult intersection: high social need, high operational complexity, and high risk. Grihum's loan lifecycle ran across multiple third-party tools and manual processes with no unified system holding it together.

The brief: Design an end-to-end Loan Origination and Management System (LOS-LMS), built on a Low-Code/No-Code platform, that works reliably in low-connectivity, high-context field environments.

Who we designed for
Five distinct roles, each with fundamentally different needs:
- Field sales on mobile in low-bandwidth conditions
- Credit and risk teams in documentation-heavy desktop workflows
- Operations and back-office teams
- Zonal managers needing portfolio visibility
- Customers entering through multiple channels

What we built
The entire lead-to-disbursement journey is redesigned as one information architecture:
Desktop-optimized screens for documentation-heavy workflows for credit, ops, and leadership teams:
- Prioritization of critical data over secondary information
- Side-by-side viewing for comparison and validation
- Clear task states, progress indicators, and dependencies

Mobile-first, task-focused screens optimized for speed and accuracy, built for on-ground usage:
- Large, reliable touch targets
- Clear progression and validation states
- Limited fields per screen
- Offline-tolerant flows

Design–development collaboration for platform-aligned patterns that preserve experience integrity:
- Custom layouts aligned to OutSystems libraries
- Scalable layouts and reusable components
- Consistent design language across hundreds of screens
- Design governance, documentation, and handover

The result
- 70% faster customer onboarding speed
- Loan login: 40 minutes, down from days
- Onboarding: 100% paperless via Aadhaar authentication
- 209 branches. 18 states. One coherent system

When the people delivering financial services have clarity, those receiving them are served with dignity.
