ABOUT

eye-d optical store Paraskakis is a local store in the Northern suburbs of Athens

They wanted to create a website so have a presence on the net. The main content of the site is the new collections of frames and sunglasses that bring in the store, offers, a section regarding eye abnormalities and a contact form.

My task was to create a user friendly website with high level of UI and UX.

I broke down the website in five sections. The Home page, News, Diseases, About Us and Contact. As a website that deals with vision I have decided to create a UI that would be easy to read either on a big screen or a small screen. Soft colours with high contrast typography, big images, big letter size and a lot of space was the solution to achieve readability.

The content boxes are big so the user is easy to ‘tap’ them on a tablet screen or on their smartphone. The only sure thing is that you can’t miss it no matter what.
When you tap or click on the content’s box a bigger one opens above containing the main text and more images relevant to the subject.

Typography’s size is also big.
The reason for that is again the user. My experience as a user in a lot of websites led me to use bigger typography. Many sites use small size fonts and that makes it difficult to read even in big screens.
With the use of big size font I achieved good readability for the user in a big screen, in tablets and smartphones.
Do not forget the users of the site might have eye abnormalities.
