ABOUT

In this project I wanted to photographically explore the meaning of identity. We encounter this term very often with different forms and meanings. For instance, in our rectangle piece of plastic with our photo on it, in philosophy, in mathematics, in business, in computer science, in culture and arts. So what does identity mean and what is it about? It is about who we are, what we have, what we like, what we are doing, where we are coming from, which are the differences between us and others, and which are the similarities. My project is going to show an aspect of identity by presenting young university students around London in their most personal place, their own room. My idea is based in a specific age of early 20s, in the age you are not child or teenager anymore but also you are not an integrated adult yet, you are in the age that your identity changes. You start having responsibilities, building your future and exploring the world and yourself. Especially in a city like London, with a big variety of people who come from all over the world just to study and accomplish their goals. For some people the bedroom is the extension of themselves, they decorate their room with things they like and place their belongings around. So you can understand just a tiny bit about them from just looking at their rooms.
