ABOUT
The Modern Agency has designed and produced the Visitor Charter for The National Portrait Gallery to coincide with its opening to the public after an extensive three-year refurbishment.
The Charter was created in partnership with Complete Works, the staffing and training specialists. It introduces The National Portrait Gallery‘s vision and values, provides information about its programmes and activities, and describes how it can deliver an exceptional experience to all of its visitors, all of the time.
Across its pages, we have featured many highlights of the NPG’s extensive collection. From portraits of Elizabeth I to David Bowie, William Shakespeare to Baroness Doreen Lawrence, as well as behind the scenes, and visitor images.
The publication is one of the first to feature NPG’s new brand identity, with a new monogram (its design is inspired by an original sketch created by Sir George Scharf, the first director of the Gallery from 1857-1895), bespoke typeface and brand colours (inspired by vibrant colours found within the Gallery interiors and original colour pigment references found within its archives).
Printed on heavy-weight, uncoated, recycled stock, conforming to ISO 14001 and with FSC certification, it represents high sustainability credentials and delivers the premium quality of print that is expected with such a prestigious organisation.
