Osteoporosis is a health condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break. It develops slowly and is often only diagnosed when a fall or sudden impact causes a bone to break or fracture.

The stage before osteoporosis is called osteopenia. This is when a bone density scan shows you have lower bone density than the average for your age, but not low enough to be classed as osteoporosis.
With the NHS facing unprecedented pressures, our brief has been to craft a visual platform for expression that raises awareness of the condition and provides a structure to house an open and honest conversation with patients around causes, diagnosis, and treatment.

In this early iteration, we have reimagined the condition as the bone being mined from within, weakening whilst bone density is carved out.
