ABOUT
Background:
The Mission Control Communications and The Mission Discovery work with clients in some of the most complex and tightly regulated spheres of advertising and marketing in the world. The specialised nature of this work requires that everyone is at the top of their game. To ensure this is the case, the agency's culture is imbued with a strong focus on lifelong learning and access to training with industry leaders including D&AD.
Idea:
In addition to ongoing D&AD workshops, creative teams are encouraged to experiment with other disciplines in-order to open up their minds to new ways of thinking and new ways of doing things. Part of this internal culture of life long education involved a photographic challenge. The brief was to capture the essence of the studio through the camera - with the challenge to prompt those from a copy background to explore the practical applications of art direction, scene setting and communicating a message without the aid of words.
Result:
We'll let the images speak for themselves. Each of these shots was taken by a none designer with no previous art direction experience. Proof if proof is needed that it pays to let people try new things and expand their skill base.
